How does the weekend, daily, weekly and monthly rates work?
We recommend that you schedule equipment ahead of time. You can place an order up to 60 days in advance. You can place your order online or call in the order. Please remember to select the correct location you wish to pick the gear up at. How long in advance to I need to reserve equipment?We prefer several hours advance notice as orders are prepped in the order in which they were received. On some high volume days we may require more time. Do you accept walk in customers?Yes we do. However we may need some time to prep small order and several hours for larger orders. Do you offer long term rentals?Yes we do offer extended rentals. Please contact the Samy’s rental location you wish to rent form to discuss your project and budget. How do I cancel my reservation?Please contact the specific Samy’s rental location to cancel the order. Cancellation fees may apply without 24 hours notice given before scheduled rental pick up times. What forms of payment do you accept?American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Discover What kind of security deposit do you require?We will need a credit card for deposit and guarantee of payment. Please let us know if you have insurance that covers rental equipment as that will bring down the deposit amount. If no insurance is provided the deposit is full replacement value of the equipment rented placed on the credit card as a hold. If insurance is provided and once verified the deposit will be the rental amount plus the policies deductible placed on the credit card. How is the credit card deposit handled?The deposit (hold) is taken once the credit card is provided and the order is assembled. The hold is typically released by your bank within 5-7 business day per your banks internal policies. We release the hold electronically upon return provided the same card is used as payment of the transaction. What if the credit card holder cannot be present to pick up the equipment?If the cardholder cannot pick up in person they can fill out credit card authorization forms and authorize someone else to pick up. Can I use my own insurance?Yes, Please have your insurance company issue a COI with Samy’s Camera (431 S Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles CA 90036) listed as the loss payee and send it to (rental locations email link). All COI’s will need to be verified beforehand. We suggest you provide us a COI 24 hours before the scheduled rental so we may confirm the information. Yes, we will hold the rental fee and the insurance deductible amount listed on your policy. (security holds are up to the discretion of the rental management) Do you offer discounts to students?Yes we do. Please contact us for more information. What do I need to bring with me pick up my order?U.S. valid state issued photo I.D. or valid passport and your physical credit card. If credit card authorization forms have been provided then person picking up will need to provide their valid state issued photo I.D. Do you deliver equipment?Yes we do. We can arrange our Locations rental division for an additional fee. Rates are competitive and vary depending on size of order, location, and timing. Please contact us for a quote. What happens if I damage something during my rental?Please contact the specific rental department location immediately. When you return the equipment we will assess the damage and provide you with a repair estimate as soon as possible. What happens if the gear is lost or stolen?Report the incident to the local authorities and be sure to get a copy of your police report. Notify your insurance company. Provide them with necessary documentation to initiate the claim. If you misplace an item please contact us immediately. We will need to charge your credit card for the full replacement cost of the item. Does Samy’s offer training on equipment?We do offer basic training at the counter when picking up your order (pending rush hour availability). Please contact us in advance if you require an in-depth explanation on a piece of equipment. We will do our best to accommodate your request. Do you have a "Try before you buy" program?Yes we do. We offer a one days rental credit towards purchase of the same New item within 30 days of the rental. Please check with our sales department for more information.
